Just purchased AirPods Pro 2 and wanted to use them as an additional hearing aid. iPhone has been updated to iOS 18 but when I go to the AirPods menu, there is no option to have them give me a hearing test. Is this not available yet? If so, where can I find that option.

Please read thru the replies in this thread. Make sure you satisfy all three requirements.
In order to use the hearing test and hearing aid function, three things must be true.
In Canada. Updated today to 18.1 and bought AirPods pro2 specifically for this hearing feature. AirPods updated to 7b19. Feature not available in the AirPods hearing health section. What is interesting is I reboot the phone and then go to the AirPods section it shows greyed out for a few seconds then disappears back to just showing Hearing Protection in Hearing Health 🤷🏻♂️
Same with new. Brand new AirPods pro 2, updated to 18.1 today, and no hearing test. Does the battery level of the AirPods need to be a certain level, say over 50%? Does the "Ear Tip Fit Test" need to pass? I tried every single ear tip and with all of them I get a message that I need to adjust them or try a different tip.
I bought a pair of Apple AirPods pro2 because Apple said the hearing test feature would be available in Canada. Now after waiting for the update now you tell us this feature will not be available for us Canadians. Very disappointing. I didn’t need just a pair of AirPods. I bought them specifically for that feature.
I'm in South Africa and it isn't available even though I'm on 18.1 and 7B19. Bought the Air Pod Pro 2 especially with the promise of hearing test being available in Fall (October I guess), and finding it not available in my region is a bit frustrating and jarring. When will it become available for South Africa and what is the reason for the delay?

Canada is not listed on the page that shows which countries support the hearing aid function. But it's not Apple who is disallowing it. You can search to see what the hold up is with the Canadian government.
Oh and by the way, you are posting to an Apple user to user community forum. Apple is not here and rarely reads these posts.

What we need is someone from Apple to tell us when Australia
and Canada will have the Hearing Aid capability. Also, I would like to know who I might
contact within Australia to ask to get any approvals necessary done soon.
I live in the US and bought an iPad Pro and AirPods Pro 2 just to try out this hearing aid feature and the Hearing Test is still not showing up on 18.1 and 7b19. Is Apple doing A/B testing with this feature? Do I need to factory reset the iPad?
I am having the same problem. My apple products are registered in the U.S. and my address is in the U.S., but I am currently traveling. It's not working for me. I meet all of the requirements and still the products does not show the applicable menu. OS has been updated to 18.1 and the firmware is the correct number as well.
I was able to use the hearing test using your link. However, even though it put it in the Health App, it doesn't seem to help with my hearing. It looks like it just put it in the health app without any modifications to its hearing aid capability.
Having the same problem. Using lates firmware and IOS. Have a US based Apple ID but am in Mexico but using a VPN to the US. Turned off location services but still not seeing the hearing test option. Any work around?
I bought them for this feature as well. They were advertised to do this, I am extremely disappointed as I also didn't need to buy them. I can not understand why they are not available to Canadians. This makes no sense at all.
I just bought the AirPods 2 Pro specifically because I read about this feature as I have some hearing loss in one ear. It’s disappointing that despite being advertised this feature is unavailable. I will be returning my Air Pods.

It merely lists many firmware revisions and what the major content of the revisions is. The following link addresses how airpods have their firmware updated, but does not have the best step-by-step directions. If you ask Google AI how to do it, good directions are provided. The instructions in the link i provided are the same as those in the link you provided. We are both pointing to the same page. I've copied the pertinent portion below:
Firmware updates are delivered automatically while your AirPods are charging and in Bluetooth range of your iPhone, iPad, or Mac that's connected to Wi-Fi. You can also use your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to check that your AirPods have the latest version.
