I’m in New York City Brooklyn I bought this specifically for my hearing aid and I cannot find the hearing aid app. I double checked they were the right version. I updated my system to 18.2. I have the latest iPhone and nothing. And all of a sudden, my screen stopped.

I have the same problem. I have the latest updates for the iPhone and the firmware and Nothing!!! I am disappointed because I thought I could use them as a hearing aid. Looks like a ton of people within the U.S. territory are experiencing the same problem.

I have just updated my software to iOS 18.2 but still cannot access the hearing aid functionality on my AirPods pro 2 version 7B21. I've tried various cities throughout the world and still have the problem.

Still not working. Looks like many other people are making sure they have these three things and it’s not showing up. Brand new AirPods Pro 2 and brand new iPhone 16. Live in the United States. What is going on?

My husband and I unknowingly bought each other a set of air pod pros for Xmas! :D Same model etc. He can take the hearing test, but I cannot. Set-up options were different for both of us. His opted to do the hearing test and it just doesn’t show up for me. We both live in the UK and bought them in the UK. Any reasons why ours are different when we both bought them the same way, the online Apple store in our country? TIA.

Also doesn’t work for me. My phone’s region is US and I got my airpods pro 2 in San Diego. Phone is iOS18.2 and latest firmware for the airpods. How can I fix this? I talked to apple support but they weren’t able to help me.

In my country (South Africa) the medical authorities are notoriously slow in approving new drugs and methods. My sister works in the pharmaceutical industry and laments that it sometimes takes 3 years for a new drug to be approved and registered. So, I guess that Apple is going through the same hoops elsewhere.

Did you figure this out? At a guess I think your iPhones are running different IOSs. Have you checked each iPhone?

I’m in the USA OS is 18.1 Firmware is 7B20 yet no hearing assist on my AirPod 4 help I have missed minor hearing loss in my left ear due to a a hole throwing a M80 firecracker next to my ear. Jackass I’m told it will slowly get worse eventually I’ll need actual hearing aid but these should be helpful for the short term. Any advice is appreciated

I'm sorry to tell you that you have the wrong AirPods. The hearing aid feature is available on the AirPod Pros 2.

I have the IPod 4 ANC my Google search says the 4th generation with ANC

has the hearing function I’ll research more. They were a gift. Possible

I’ll need to return them.

Your Google search is wrong I'm afraid. The hearing aid feature is only available on the AirPod Pro 2s.

Hi all

boughr pro 2 and updated to 18.2.1 and get the “take a hearing test”. Test goes ok . Then go back to page showing the ipods pro2. It has not changed the menu options. Just shows “ take a hearing test. Am at wits end

Update as of 2-1-2025 February 1 2025

I paired the EarPods with my new iPhone 16 running update 18.2 and the hearing test magically appeared today.

Update 18.3 is available but not installed yet on iPhone.

The EarPods were fully charged and EarPods case was at 70% charge.
