Why can't I find the Hearing Test on my AirPods Pro 2?

I have the latest iOS for my phone and correct 7B19 for my AirPods Pro 2 (model A3048 from Costco). I cannot for the life of me get this hearing feature to appear. When I open the AirPod menu, “take a hearing test” is nowhere to be found. It’s not in my Health app either. I restarted my phone as well with no luck. Tried “forget my device” and repairing with my phone. And they are in my ears when I’m trying all this as well. What am I missing?

Nevermind I’m on 18.0.1 which is apparently different than 18.1.

Where do you live? If you are in one of the countries where they haven't been approved for use yet like Canada, Australia, the UK. As you haven't updated to IOS 18.1 you can set them up in Settings/Accessibility/Audio Visual/ Head Accommodations and apply your audiogram in Transparency.

If you need a hearing test download the Mimi hearing test app. It does pretty much the same as the Apple hearing test. After your hearing test it will be available to apply in Headphone Accommodations.

If you are living in one of the countries where the hearing aid is not available, if you update to IOS 18.1 or newer the hearing aid feature won't work.

I think I just spent money on the new AirPods Pro 2 unnecessarily. It turns out the hearing test is not available in Australia, but of course we weren’t told that. Tricked by big corporation again. Bad. I have AirPod pro from 3 years ago, looks like they would have been fine once it’s enabled here. Shees. You don't need to update.
