Just purchased AirPods Pro 2 and wanted to use them as an additional hearing aid. iPhone has been updated to iOS 18 but when I go to the AirPods menu, there is no option to have them give me a hearing test. Is this not available yet? If so, where can I find that option.

Please read thru the replies in this thread. Make sure you satisfy all three requirements.
In order to use the hearing test and hearing aid function, three things must be true.
My father has prescription hearing aids paired to his phone so it will not allow him to have two separate devices work as hearing aids. He has to unpair his original hearing aids to get the ability to use AirPods as hearing aids.
Also you have to be in the country as well. My apple account is from the US but i am right now in Colombia and it just does not show the hearing test while I'm here, I spoke to my daughter back home and she was able to take under the same account.
Still no hearing test available as of 1/7/2025 with airpodpro2 ,latest updates installed on both AirPods and IPad.
I am still waiting to hear back from the health dept of Apple where I was sent after contacting the Apple help desk who said many people were having trouble accessing the hearing test.
I will update when I hear from them.
We are just other Apple users in this forum. But even Apple cannot do as you wish. It is up to the authorities in that country to approve it.

They won't. Canada hasn't bee approved yet.
I have done all 3 and have checked to ensure it is supported in my country (Canada) and still cannot access the hearing test.
There has been no approval for Canada yet.
Thank you for your clear advice. I also couldn't find the Hearing Test, until I checked the countries. We are not included yet. So, I guess a real test involving a another human is my only route.

There are so many reasons why the hearing function is not available everywhere. Some countries have restrictions. Others outright ban certain functions. In the US, the hearing function had to be approved by the FDA. It could be that some countries are waiting for similar approvals from their government agencies.
