Trying to upload RAW Photos to iCloud, but only JPEGs are allowed

I'm trying to upload a ton of pictures from Spain and other places from my Windows computer to Icloud so I can view and share them on my phone. But the app or website or whatever says that "oNlY fIlEs In JpEg FoRmAt CaN bE uPlOaDeD" so basically thats almost 1000 photos I can't use on my phone all because I wanted the best image quality so I chouse to take them in RAW format. There seems to be some really, work arounds like "CoNvErT eVeRy PhOtO tO jPeG" or "sAvE tHeM tO ThE fIlEs ApP AnD tHeN aS aN iMaGe". But of course on the other community post i looked at didn't help at all and offer any solutions basically it said "youre screwed if its not a JPEG lol we're just not going to address any questions there" but the person who uploaded it somehow thought it was a good enough answer to close the discussion and not let any one else follow up or follow up themselves. Anyways, looking for solutions.

One can't close a discussion. They only get closed automatically after a certain amount of time has passed.

I suspect iCloud can also store photos as HEIC since that is the standard format for Apple photos now, but that's not what you're trying to do. Storing as RAW would very quickly eat up your storage space.

I too was thinking, try storing them as something else and not in the photos area. I don't use iCloud for storage so I am not familiar with the formats it accepts. Maybe you can bundle some as zip files and store them in documents?

Gotcha, I just chose raw because it was uncompressed so I figured it was the best image quality. I didn’t realize how much larger the files are :)) After thinking about it I don’t mind leaving them on my computer and compressing the files for my phone, as long as I can do them all in one go. I might delete some of the resulting images anyway from my phone if I don’t think I need them here, and then still have the full catalog backed up. Thank you
