Cannot upload Sony RAW photos to iCloud

Recently, I imported some RAW photos taken with Sony A7M2 into the Photos app on macOS. Later I found that the app is stuck on "syncing 1413 items to iCloud". I do have enough free storage on iCloud, and photos other than raw files are properly uploaded to the cloud. Any thoughts on how I can fix this? Thanks.

Hey there chenzhekl,

Having 1413 photos that are in RAW format may take some time to finish syncing. We recommend making sure to be connected to Wi-Fi, along with a charger, to finish the syncing process.

  1. How long has it been since it shows 1413 photos being synced with iCloud, and how long have you had it connected to Wi-Fi and a charger since it started to show? For example: leaving it charging and connected to Wi-Fi overnight
  2. Has that number been higher since the syncing process began? In other words, we want to know if it's still actively syncing photos since first seeing that message?
  3. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart. Check out the section 'Restart' here: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac
  4. We see you have macOS Ventura installed, but the latest version is macOS Ventura 13.0.1. You can verify this by clicking on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen, then on ‘About This Mac’. This link will show how to first back up, then Update macOS on Mac.
  5. Have you been able to sync RAW photos from the same camera in the past, and if yes, when did this start to show?

Cheers!
