Why is a universally incompatible format (heic) being chosed by default without my response/input for my photos. I need to use the images I capture for basic web stuff like ebay auctions.

Default to a format that is actually universal, or offer me an option to choose a less compatible but more compact format. I expect more from apple products, but above all else, a seamless and consistent experience. Seamless. This is not it. I take pictures of items I need to put on ebay using my iphone and I want to simply upload the photos I took for each item... and nightmare none of the images on my iphone can be uploaded and I have to go through hoops to make that happen.

This isn't what Steve was going for.
