CarPlay continues to randomly disconnect on iPhone

Despite updates, cable replacements and restarts, CarPlay continues to randomly disconnect. It is unsafe and disruptive to navigation to have it suddenly dropping, then connecting via Bluetooth, then switching to wired, and then again 2-3 times more. A friend uses Bluetooth only and on her side she see repetitive “mute” without mute being requested. Apple you need to fix this!!!
