iPhone 15 battery swelling and back glass cracking: Will Apple replace the phone for free under warranty?
I have an Iphone 15 that is less than a year old and still within warranty. I noticed the battery swelling and the back glass cracking and lifting off from the phone at the seams. I went to an apple store on Sunday and they said they could replace the battery and back glass for free in warranty, but the parts needed would come in on Wednesday and I would need to hold onto the phone until then. It is Wednesday night and I have received no email or text or call, so I have not gone in to give my phone to be repaired. I am getting increasingly worried as the phone is starting to lift in even more places, like it has now lifted along the other side of the phone, with the left side having all pins fully up and the right starting to peel up at the seam. Im worried my phone may catch fire or explode. If it does before they call me in for a replacement will they just replace the phone for free instead or am I stuck without it? Should I just go in person and ask or wait to hear from them? the store is about a 30 minute drive from me.
