iPhone 11 replacement battery swelling and screen lift

I replaced my iPhone 11 Pro battery on 2024 Feb 24 at Hong Kong TST apple shop. Then I moved to England on 2024 June. However, currently I found the replacement battery was swelling and screen lift on April 18. Then I bring my iPhone to London apple store, they said the replacement battery was over a year and warranty was not valid. Either replaced a new battery or buy a new iPhone. This is my first time to replaced the iPhone battery and so disappointed the bad quality of their replacement battery and caused the screen lift.

iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 18

Obviously there is some confusion among your fellow end users regarding whether you visited a true Apple retail store or some other business. In many countries outside the US we see retailers "pretending" to be Apple Authorized when they are not.

Was it this store:

Canton Road - Apple Store - Apple (HK)

That is the only one is this official list of Apple retail stores in Hong Kong that includes anything that could be abbreviated "TST":

Store List - Apple Store - Apple (HK)

This one:

We need you to confirm what store you visited to effectively help in this user-to-user setting.

What do you want us to tell you? Apple has already presented you with your options.

A swollen battery isn’t common, but it can happen. It is also considered dangerous, so I suggest you power off your iPhone and do not charge it.

For your reference, there is a 90 day warranty on repairs.

I suggest you get the battery replaced, unless you want to purchase a new iPhone.

You will replace many more iPhone batteries in your life.

In fact the replacement battery was changed from the official apple store in Hong Kong!! no confident the replacement anymore even I changed that from official apple store still happens like this!

Sorry this has happened to you, but swelling batteries do occur. If you noticed the battery swelling and screen lifting within 90 days of you getting the replacement, you should have went in and Apple probably would have replaced the battery for free. But a year is too long and suggests that possible the battery swelled in your possession, there could be many reasons for this occurring. You will also find that if you decide to get your iPhone’s battery replaced at a non-Apple Authorized shop, you will face a lot more issues. That we nor Apple will not be able to help you with.
