Change back to Gulf of Mexico
I don’t want the name of Gulf of Mexico changed in my maps app. How do I put it back right?

Apple gets that information from the United States Geological Service. Contact them or Congress.

I don’t think that changing it back is possible. You could change the map to Mexican and that may work.
No one here can help you with that and neither can you "put it back right". Who you'd contact to change it I have no idea.
Contact your Congressman and Senator. Mapping services have changed the name for people in the US in accordance with government orders.
At least New Mexico is still New Mexico and not New America.
Even the Spanish maps of 1509 show New Mexico as Nuevo Mexiquii and all of the Gulf Coast states including Texas were named Florida.
