Apple News requires wi-fi?

Whenever I'm in the car (for instance) and try to access Apple News I am informed that I'm not connected to the internet--even though my LTE connection is strong.

Why can't I access Apple News+ while using a VPN? When I try to view articles in Apple News+ with my VPN connected I get the following message: "This story is unavailable. Apple News isn’t connected to the internet." If I disconnect the VPN there is no problem, I can access everything. Is there a way around the problem? [Re-Titled by Moderator]

No Internet Connection on Apple News Since updating to iOS 18, I’m facing constant connection problems to Apple News- both on my iPhone 14Pro and iPad. The news feed does not get refreshed (shows “Offline” and “No Internet Connection”), and when I visit any media’s page, a message shows “Feed Unavailable, There may be a problem with server or network”- even though all other apps would be working fine over the internet. Had to cancel my News+ subscription, as it was pointless. Will a new update fix this?

On your iPhone, hit Settings / Cellular or Mobile Data (the name depends on regional settings) and scroll down to News. Enable it for data.
