Apple News not connecting to internet

It’s September 2024 and my Apple News says it’s not connected to the internet when all else is connected, and yes, my wifi is connected! But not Apple News. I’ve tried deleting the app and reinstalling. No difference. I’ve off and on my wifi and no difference. I’ve turned off my iPhone and back on, no difference. I have forgotten my wifi and reset it, no difference . What can I do? I subscribe to Apple News + and can use it. If this heroes happening I’ll cancel it Apple. Please do something.

It is recommended to remove Avast. Other users have reported that just turning off the VPN has not always worked and they had to remove the Profile at Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.

I believe once that has been done, you will no longer have a problem with Apple News.

I assume it is working on Cellular and the only issue is WiFi. Check your DNS and Proxy settings on your WiFi network. Go to Settings > Wifi > [network name].

Set Configure DNS to Automatic
Set Configure Proxy to Off

Most likely a VPN issue. If that is the case, you will need to uninstall it, just turning it off may not work.

I deleted Avast security and the VPN. My iPhone 13 still refuses to connect to Apple News on my home Wifi, whereas everything else connects fine. I deleted and reinstalled Apple News. Still the same problem. Thanks in anticipation for any replies and assistance!

Ok, I do have the Avast Antivirus and VPN on my iPhone, but the VPN is turned off. I will delete all of the Avast staff. Thank you!
