Home ‘cannot send invitation’

I’m unable to send an invitation to my wife to add her to our new HomePod/ Home app set up. Keeps saying ‘cannot send invitation’ and that her iCloud needs to be home enabled. I’ve spent hours going through all her settings - making sure we are both updated to the new iOS 16.5.1 and still nothing…

This has now been fixed. We contacted apple support and they did aload of trouble shooting , eventually it turned out to be an iCloud account error with my wife’s account, we had to set up a new iCloud email address (only as a dormant account - didn’t change her actual email associated to her account) and then sent the invitation to that new email account and Bob’s your uncle, Fanny’s your aunt- we’re in!
