Home App Invite not working on 16.4

Hi

before the update it had worked, my wife and I, had access to the house, all the automation etc all worked fine, after upgrading to 16.4 on all our devices…. We have 4 HomePod and AppleTV as the hubs in our home.

we also have a MacBook, iPad and iPhone each. We upgrade our devices to 16.4 and MacBooks to 13.3. After upgrade the home app asked for architecture upgrade, which I did, after the upgrade my wife was remove, and now cannot re-add her.

I have read a number of post with different solutions, which all appears to be a bit random and nothing has worked so far

have removed all HomePods and just let the AppleTV, rebooted it a couple of times, then re-invited.

have tried on wife’s phone, after each of below tried to re-send invite from my iPhone

reset the home with the profile

deleting and re-adding home app

disabled home in iCloud on all devices and re-enabling it

disabling home in iCloud on macbook and ipad.

from my iPhone

deleted and re-adding the home app (didn’t lose anything as iPad/MacBook had config)

i didn’t want to reset the home app on my device, as I would remove all HomeKits devices, but did, have 48 devices which have re-added.

I tried to invite when just had the TV apple, after each HomePod was re-add and after re-adding all the devices

have removed one HomePod and reset it and removed from my iCloud account, the wife created her own house with that HomePod, to see if had any updates or prompts for architecture update, which it didn’t. Home app has everything up to date.

I believe I have tried everything going to get this working and failed.

she get the invite in all the time, hits accept and nothing happens…. But strangely if she invites me to her house, I don’t get the invite

Anyone have any idea?

I’m not sure what to advise. With this upgrade being so new it’s been a struggle to understand it.

Do you have any device that didn’t get updated? An old phone from years past? I had an iPhone 8 still signed in so I removed it. I otherwise left my iPad Air 2 on OS. 15 signed in and it’s not interfering, it just can’t use the Home App.

Some have renamed Home with some luck.

it appears all devices have updated correctly short of a factory reset, am at a lose.

I do have very old MacMini thats is used as NAS, but it’s not signed in to any cloud account.

I’ll give renaming a go

You can contact Apple Support. Or call them, if the number at the foot of this page works for you (for N.America)

otherwise some signing out of devices, such as Apple TV, restarting and signing back in might help.

Hi all, I still have this issue on wife's account after updating every device to 16.4.1 (iPhones, iPads and TV), to 9.4 (Watches) and to 13.3.1 (Macs)

I'm the owner of the home and everything works well (better than before upgrade to new arch.) but my wife was kicked out and she's actually unable to get back in (she accept the invitation and get error message after a couple of minutes of rolling gear)

Every test in the first post was done but remove home and rebuild from scratch, I find this solution not acceptable as I have more than 100 device only on hue hubs, a couple of dozen of switches and plugs, netatmo cams indoor and outdoor, netatmo weather station, netatmo thermostat and a dozen of valves ... long story short is a nightmare to rebuild everything and i do not want to walk that road.

Is Apple actually doing anything to solve this problem definitely ? Is, for sure, a back-end problem as somebody in here said.

I also talked to Apple support with the same result.

Another small bit of information - when I send an invite to another family member and that member declines the invitation everything works as expected. As the sender I get a response back saying the invitation was declined. The error is in setting up the invited person on the hub.

The only thing that has changed is that an iPhone that was on the old version of the hub is too old to be updated so it cannot use the new architecture. Perhaps the hub data is trying to restore this device to the new architecture which is now impossible.

Renamed the home. Made no different

checked both iCloud accounts attached devices, all are up to date, as well as checking each device too

iphone/iPad 16.4

watch 9.4

homepod/Apple TV 16.4

macos 13.3

Tried thats, reset them all via the Mac, which made no different,

I have Apple support a shot, see if have anything else I can try

That’s basically what has happened to us, I spoke with Apple Support they know about the problem, and will be fix in future release, but didn’t say when this was
