Airpods Pro 2 Case won’t play sound in find my

Both of my airpods can play the sound and locate in the find my app, but the case won’t. I can see its location but can’t use the sound or locate feature. I even tested this out by holding my airpod case in my hand while attempting, but it still failed to work.
