How to connect iPhone 15 to Windows 11 PC for content management when iTunes and Devices app fail?

I used to manage my iPhone via my PC. I used iTunes - an old version - but it all worked. But recently it's stopped working entirely. My PC recognises that there is an iPhone attached, but iTunes no longer does. I tried downloading Devices from the Microsoft store, and that doesn't work either.

So my computer knows there is an iPhone there, but none of the Apple products designed to manage the content on my iPhone recognise it.

I am getting very frustrated with this now - Apple products once "just worked".

How can I please connect my iPhone to my PC to manage the content on the device?

Installing any of Apple Music for Windows, Apple Devices, or Apple TV, breaks iTunes such that it can then only manage audiobooks and podcasts. I would recommend uninstalling whichever of those three you have installed first. Then see iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows - Apple Community. You should generally run the latest build of iTunes for best results.
