Inaccurate past precipitation totals on weather app

Why are past precipitation totals so grossly inaccurate? We received around 2” of snow in the last 24 hours and the weather app is stating we have had 105” in the past 24 hours with 2-3” more to come in the next 24 hours.

Weather app: precipitation way off iPhone weather app has been way off in reporting precipitation. Today it says we received 131” of snow when we received 8” of snow.

Apple Weather App's snowfall forecast discrepancy in Atlanta Atlanta is forecast for 1-3" of snow today but the iphone Apple weather app says 7-9"??? Part of me would love it if it were true, lol. Seriously, how does the apple weather app predict the snowfall? Maybe they need someone to check this app for accuracy?? [Re-Titled by Moderator]
