Asus monitor be729qsk not connecting camera to Mac mini

brand new Mac mini connected to brand new Asus be279qsk not recognizing the camera of the monitor.

connected by Hdmi cable

Mac mini, macOS 13.5

The HDMI connection does not carry the I/O for the displays down stream USB ports or Web camera.

For that, you need a second USB cable connection between the Mac mini and the display.
