Samsung M80C Monitor Dedicated Camera Not Recognized by 2023 Mac Mini

I just got a new Mac Mini that I'm using with Samsung M80C monitor. I tried to do a trial Zoom call to adjust the camera settings and make sure everything works correctly, but the Mac is not recognizing the camera. I am connected using HDMI to HDMI cable that came with the monitor.

Various help articles I've found say switch to USB-C to USB-C, others say to specifically use Thunderbolt 4 connection for the camera to be recognized. Also found articles that say that there's an ongoing issue with the camera showing then disappearing related to the Mac coming out of sleep mode.

I need to be able to have the camera connect and stay connected. Is this hopeless or is there a fix?
