After iOS update callers can’t hear me, garbled, call drops

Anyone having voice quality issues after recent OS update? Callers suddenly can’t hear me for past 2-3 weeks I think. They say my voice is clear, then garbled, then call just abruptly drops!

I bought new iPhone13 in Feb 2023 and only these past view weeks I am suddenly experiencing voice quality issues while on a call. Doesn’t matter if I use wired headset, or phone microphone. Doesn’t matter if call connection is via cell site or WiFi calling, one-way audio issue still present. 5 dropped calls in mid-sentence with same person today, and caller getting very frustrated and screaming they can’t hear me anymore if I am talking. Eventually call releases.

Ok so I was ready to return iphone until this morning. Had important call today so used a different phone (iPhone8). Same issue caller can’t hear me and call eventually drops (6 times). Very frustrating!  Then even resorted to using iPhone6S. Same issues.

I am ruling out phone hardware, since issue seems to be present on 3 different flavor of iPhones. I am ruling out wifi/router issue since problem still exists when those are turned off. Also, Android users in my house are not experiencing any voice call issues.

Could it be the issue started after a recent OS update?

Please Help!!!!

Unfortunately my issue must be unrelated to that fix. Only my iPhone13 even has that Siri Call Hang-Up feature, and it was already set to OFF. The other 2 phones experiencing the same one-way voice quality issue are iPhone6S and iPhone8.

Today I stumbled upon another “possible” clue. During a call my friend would periodically say “your voice is fading away again. (Like at least 10 different times during the call). Once while I was talking (and she was saying she can’t hear me), I happened to be using my phone to reasearch something for her so call was not visible on screen at the moment she said that. I quickly tapped HOME and then brought up call screen. Immediately she said, “now I can hear you fine”. A few minutes later when she again said, “if you’re talking I can’t hear you”, out of curiosity I decide to tap and go to HOME screen, and then tapped to bring call back on screen. Strangely she was immediately able to hear me again!  I did that at least 2 more times during the call whenever she’d say she can’t hear me and it seemed to immediately restore voice garble/fade (even if only temporarily).

This makes no sense to me how leaving the call screen and then pulling it back up on screen would immediately restore one-way audio issue. Maybe just a coincidence?

Anyway my problem still exists and really hoping for a fix. Very frustrating to have to use land line phone now for the important calls.
