Drag and drop duplicate list item vs. move in iOS Notes app

I found that doing a « tap and hold » for a second or so before dragging works well. If I tap and move right away, it’ll want to duplicate the item.

I’m not sure why, but it works most of the time for me.

I just submitted a feedback report to Apple (following instructions here Bug Reporting - Apple Developer).

I suggest everybody to do the same and hopefully they patch this. It's a very annoying and frustrating bug.

This is definitely a newer 'feature'; I've noticed it just in the past few months. I don't know who requested it or why they need it, but i can't stand it and wish we could turn it off. I'll have to send a request to apple for that, but it's frustrating that it was fine before and now, this. I can't believe there arent more posts about this. I looked when I first found the issue and there was NOTHING online about it. Looking again today, I found this. Thanks, OP, for validating the need for this discussion and clarifying the issue.
