iPad+Apple Music Only getting 44.1kHz from Usb- c to amp

I'm trying to play Hi-Res Lossless music on Apple's Music app through the USB-C output on my iPad Pro into my amplifier's DAC. But the sound is downsampled to 44.1kHz instead of 96kHz or 192kHz. If I use a competitor's app like Amazon Music, I get full resolution at 192kHz. So this is specific to the Apple Music app.

How do I get full Hi-Res Lossless music from the Music app through USB-C?

But that means there is no way to actually experience Hi-res Lossless music from their own app and products. If it’s not supported via Bluetooth OR the USB-C there’s literally no way actually play the hi-res music. Why even have the files for it?
