Where’s my option to stop automatic ads? They’re refreshing safari and crashing the webpage. Constantly looping to new ads crashing is making me less of a user .

Google ads have been crashing safari for the past year. Most clickbait webpages accessed on Facebook that open in safari or on Facebook will crash before getting to the end due to ads looping in the background. 99% of safari pages are running these ******** loopy ads that constantly refresh in pages instead of timing out and going away as they do on my computer's internet browsing.

When will iOS offer the option to stop looping ads?

Blocking pop-up ads has nothing to do with ads on a page. These ads automatically loop and refresh into new ads but crash safari. The page should not be refreshing for ads. Say you click block all pop up ads you cannot read the page without the exact same experience. So, when will apple offer an option to fix this? That being internet browsing crashes due to ads looping all over the place without warning!

#1 I never enjoyed television stations with looping ads like the stockmarket loop. The stock market is a screen grab for those ready to spend money. I’m not ready to spend money watching the news or surfing the internet. I have money but am not ready to spend money. . If I had a moment to think hey I might need that I’d click way more but with mass looping ads like a stock exchange running the internet readers offline way faster then intended the crash of safari will become the crash of apple. I think it’s time Apple offered the option to stop the looping ads or cut them out completely from appearing on a screen.

Apple has been crashing for the past year and it’s only making me want to use a computer. less and less time is being spent using my apple device as Facebook pages have been crashing for a few years and now everything in safari crashes due to the loopy ads refreshing while timing out my webpages

it has lessened my experience with apple and I’m certain all other phones have loopy ads refreshing whenever the **** they want but these ads do not appeal to anyone. Not unless they’re constantly thinking about trading and buying these are a nuisance.

Can't say I disagree.

Unfortunately most if not all of what you are asking about is inappropriate for this user-to-user support site. Apple doesn't discuss their future plans, and we are prohibited from even discussing what they might be.

Developers who get paid to write those intrusive ads use the latest high-end hardware, and their compensation is directly related to how resource-hungry and attention-getting they are. Like it or not clickbait pays for the Internet. If it crashes your Mac they don't care. Their paycheck cleared already.

The answer to your question is to shun websites that derive their revenue through targeted, interest-based advertising (i.e. Google). In Apple Support Communities, you are using perhaps the only site on the Internet that doesn't. Let other people pay for the Internet.

If you want to be informed, then be informed. I know of no alleged "news" websites that are worthwhile unless you pay for them, and I'm perfectly content having to do that. On the other hand if you want to be entertained, there are an unlimited number so-called "news" outlets on TV and online. They're all garbage. I only pay to have garbage removed, not to have it delivered 🙂
