Drag acts like double click in finder

I've been trying to move some GoPro footage into a folder. Worked totally fine in the past, but now whenever I go to drag a photo or video into the folder it acts like I'm double clicking and it opens it up. Not too much of an issue yet, it's just for organizational purposes, but still very annoying. I tried restarting a few times, but nothing different happens. It happens just in finder too, sometimes randomly in other applications but mostly just finder.

I will mention that something similar had happened to me in google chrome when I was trying to move highlighted lines in a doc, but restarting it had helped.

Btw this is for the built in trackpad.
