When i connect the monitor to my 5th Generation IPad Air running 16.1 it is mirroring display. It does not seem to give the option to arrange the ipad and use the monitor as an additional monitor. Can this be a result of the chord being used?
Apple has not, as yet, officially added external monitor support to the new iPadOS 16 Stage Manager feature.
It is still in beta and is still quite buggy and unstable.
Look for Apple to release the extended monitor support, to the iPadOS 16 Stage Manager feature in a future iPadOS 16 update.
