Why can't I delete Safari search history on Mac despite having no Content & Privacy Restrictions?

i am trying to delete my search history, however even though i do not have content and privacy restrictions on it still does not clear the history. why does this keep happening?


i updated the mac to the most recent update and it still does not delete. i tryed to use terminal. still, does not delete. why?

Please refer to Clear your browsing history in Safari on Mac - Apple Support, and describe what you are encountering that is unexpected or is not working as described.


There is no need to use Terminal since it cannot do anything Clear your browsing history does not. Using it may have corrupted Safari's history database though, leaving a mess for you to clean up. Please tell me you backed up your Mac.
