How to troubleshoot OneNote sync issue on macOS 10.15.7 iMac?

My iMac has macOS 10.15.7 and can't be updated.

OneNote has stopped syncing in the last few days on my iMac

OneNote does sync on my two year old MacBook and in the browser version

Is there any way I can get OneNote to sync on my iMac?

Notes on MacBook not syncing So I've just been dealing with a work around forever and it's getting annoying. My notes sync on my MacBook only if I quit notes and restart it. I would like to not have to constantly do that though. it's super annoying. The other way around seems to work fine.

Notes app is not showing text editor when a note is selected I've recently updated my 2021 Macbook Pro M1 Max to Sequoia 15.0.1. After the update, my Notes App will not show the text editor when I click on a note — usually it would display it as a column to the right of the list of notes. The only way I'm able to bring up a text editor is to double click the note. So far, I have: Adjusted column widths and app display options (list vs grid, sidebar on/off, etc.) Quit and restarted the app Rebooted the computer Deselected Notes syncing in my iCloud and rebooted I'm attaching a screenshot so you can see what I mean — I don't have any notes, because I still have them unsynced on this machine as I try to troubleshoot. Notes won't sync from my Mac I'm having trouble with Notes syncing from my Mac: Changes in iCloud or other devices are reflected on my Mac Changes in my Mac are not reflected in iCloud except when Notes is first opened. Changes made after are opening are not synced. I have seen this issue reported elsewhere but it wasn't really solved. I've already tried all of the obvious things - my MacOS is up to date, I restarted, I turned Notes syncing on and off, etc. Again, the sync works when Notes starts but subsequent changes aren't reflected in iCloud. I recently added two Google work accounts to my system although Notes is turned off for both of them although I'm suspicious that somehow that's causing this, Any ideas?

I know OneNote on the PC depends on OneDrive and syncing will happen with the documents in the Document folder. On a PC OneNote also stages backups in the Users AppData Microsoft folder.

On the Mac, Microsoft has a User Data folder on Documents folder which may assist you in managing OneNote, though I've not tested that. I would post to the Microsoft forums to verify with your version of Office, what's possilble.
