How can I change FaceTime audio input back to AirPods or microphone?

Whenever I pick up a FaceTime call on my Mac, the input defaults to "zoom audio device". Is there any way to make it change back to microphone or AirPods?

Any advice/help is much appreciated!

My FaceTime is also defaulting to the ZoomAudioDevice every time I open it, even though Zoom is closed and the system settings are set to my MacBook ins and outs (the Zoom device doesn't even show there). Very annoying, every call starts with people gesturing that they can't hear me! While I haven't found a fix for it defaulting there, the quickest way I found to change sound input/output on FaceTime is to click on "Video" in the menu bar (counterintuitive, I know), there you can directly select the sound input and output you want to use.
