How do you retain original formatting when pasting text within a paragraph in Pages on Mac?
This seems such a basic thing, but in spite of reading the user documentation and looking at the forum I still can't do it.
I want to copy a piece of text that has some style attributes applied to it, for example a different colour, bold, larger than normal text size, etc, and paste it into the middle of a paragraph and have it retain the original styling. If I use control V to paste it in, it is pasted in the style of the paragraph it is being pasted into. If I use Paste and Match style, it still does the same thing. If I paste it in a separate paragraph then it does retain the original styling, but that is not what I am trying to do. The only work around I have found is once I have pasted it is to reselect the original text, click Copy Style, and then select the recently pasted text and click Paste Style. But this is such a long winded way of going about it and prone to errors. What am I missing here?
