Unexpected Cut Like Behavior When Copying and Pasting Rapidly in Text Editors

When I copy text from an editor like Code Editor or Pages, switch to another window with command + arrows to paste it elsewhere and then switch back to the original editor, the copied text disappears from the document. Using Command + Z on a MacBook Pro M4 Max restores the text.

This issue occurs without any third party clipboard managers, autosave features, app specific behaviors or iCloud syncing enabled. When repeated rapidly multiple times, it behaves as if the text is being cut rather than copied.
