How do I display custom contact names in FaceTime on iPhone?

When ever I call some body in FaceTime, their name that I set appears instead of this format. [name] . It appears like this. [name] or [name] . Please help, I tried merging same contacts but didn’t work, is this a glitch?

You might want to try checking the details you have listed for people in the Contacts app:

Eg For iOS 18 (or, for accurate info., please choose your iPhone's correct iOS version at the top of the article):

ie: To make changes: See how to: Edit contacts on iPhone - Apple Support


About iOS 18 Updates - Apple Support says 18.4.1 is the newest update.

Eg: says: "This update provides important bug fixes, security updates, and addresses a rare issue that prevents wireless CarPlay connection in certain vehicles."
