Unable to have smooth, lag-free interactions when using the MS Teams platform.

When using MS Teams, heavy lagging prevents me from actively participating. I use macOS Ventura version 13.3.1. At times, everything freezes, and I have to restart by pressing the power button. I've cleared the MS Teams cache multiple times, yet the issue persists. Speed tests yield typical download/upload Mbps results of 436.77 / 287.10 respectively.


These numbers drop significantly (reflected in image below) as the session goes on, to the point my image freezes, I'm unable to respond others in real time, etc.

Please help me understand what I can do to optimize this situation.

First, you are multiple versions behind on macOS Ventura updates which are currently at 13.7.4.


Are you using Teams in the browser or the stand alone app? Also make sure your Teams app is also completely up to date.


Anti-virus software, cleaning/optimizer apps, and third party security software can all easily cause issues. VPNs can also cause problems. If you have any of these types of apps installed, then uninstall them by following the developer's instructions.


Run the third party app EtreCheck and post the complete report here so we can examine it for possible clues.
