I have this on ALL video apps, RingCentral app + chrome, Google Meet chrome, Zoom app. It started happening I think since upgrading to Ventura. The CPU goes into overdrive and computer becomes completely lethargic if anything other than the videomeet is going on. Sharing a screen brings the whole computer to its knees. I also have an MBP Pro 2018,16Gb/i7

I've tried cleaning out the harddisk to ensure it's not a swapping issue. Didn't help. I think this is prob specific to the MBP 2018 and I really hope Apple can do something about it or suggest a fix. Videoconferencing is key for remote work.

My guess is, that it might be using the embedded Intel GPU instead of the RADEON one, and running out of resources that way. But it might be some other kind of bug. Definitely a bug though. I hope it's treated as such and with some urgency.

Hey Praveen_Rai,

Does this happen with any other video call platforms? For example, does it occur when you use FaceTime? This information can help us further isolate the issue between your Mac and Microsoft Team video call.

If it only happens when you do video call through Microsoft Team, we recommend that you reach out to Microsoft support team for assistance: Get technical support for Teams

If it happens with FaceTime and other video calling apps, try restarting your Mac and make sure that your macOS is updated to the latest version: Update macOS on Mac

Let us know how it goes!

Best regards.

Hey Praveen_Rai,

Since you didn’t mention which macOS version your MacBook Pro is on, please make sure that your Mac meets Microsoft’s requirements to use their app: Microsoft Teams - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

If your Mac keeps slowing down when using the app, we recommend uninstalling the app, restarting your Mac, then installing it again: Install and uninstall apps from the internet or a disc on Mac - Apple Support

If you’re still unable to use Microsoft Teams as expected after following those steps, you’ll need to contact Microsoft Support for help with their product: Microsoft Support

All the best.
