iTunes not showing "music" tab to see music

Here is a photo of what I can see on iTunes on my lenovo ideapad. I was given a pop up message saying "music tab has now been removed from iTunes". I need to sort out my music on my iPod nano as my genius music is not up to date and has music files missing that need to be added manually but are unable to on iTunes or apple music as my iPod nano does not need an apple id to log in. How can I get the "music" tab back so I can manually sort out my music and add files uploaded from my computer?

Hi Loriini_Night,

Apple has removed the "Music" tab from iTunes in recent updates, making it harder to manually manage music on older devices like the iPod Nano. Here are some possible solutions:

  1. Try an Older Version of iTunes – If your iPod Nano is not compatible with Apple Music, you may need to install an older version of iTunes that still supports manual music management. You can find previous versions on Apple’s support site or third-party software archives.
  2. Enable Manual Music Management – If you can access your iPod under iTunes, check if the option to manually manage music is still available under your device settings.
  3. Use Third-Party Software – Apps like iMazing or CopyTrans allow manual music transfers to iPods without needing iTunes.
  4. Check iTunes Preferences – Sometimes, hidden settings may prevent device syncing. Go to Edit > Preferences > Devices and ensure "Prevent iPods from syncing automatically" is unchecked.
  5. Try a Different Computer – If possible, try connecting your iPod to another PC with an older iTunes version to see if the music management options appear.

Your symptoms suggest that you have installed Apple Music (the app), Apple Devices and Apple TV on your computer. These apps limit your library to Podcasts and Audiobooks (no, I don't understand why).

Remove all three apps and you should then be able to see your library.
