I have an iPad Pro, find many shows on Apple TV so dark they are literally unwatchable. Recent examples are The Gorge, and Silo. Even in a dark room, with brightness turned up full, I struggle to watch these shows and so give up as the experience is totally unwatchable.
I have played with dark mode, True Tone, night shift - it all makes zero difference. Any ideas??

Hi IKrupp, vision is fine thanks. As per my post, not a TV but iPad. Yes both of these shows are filmed as to be in a ‘lower light environment’, but no one would produce a show that is so dark as to be unwatchable. Unless I am doing something wrong, it is clear that any Apple executive could bring up these shows on an iPad and see that what I am saying is demonstrably a fact.
I can see from other forums that people have been complaining about this for some time; my experience isn’t new.

Both of those films were intentionally filmed in low light conditions to create the desired effect and there’s nothing you can do about it. Both are presented in Dolby Vision which has enhanced definition. Does your HDTV support Dolby Vision and HDR10+?
So no, there are no ideas. Those films are what they are. We have viewed both films and found them perfectly watchable on our Sony with Dolby Vision.
Not to offend but have you had your vision tested recently?
I provided the answer. There’s nothing you can do about it. Apple executives, Apple engineers, and Apple Support do not monitor these user-to-user forums. No one here is an Apple employee or Apple contractor, just fellow users volunteering to try and help one another. So I suppose we're done here.
