Why are shows on Apple TV SO DARK on my IIphone???

it’s insane this issues had been going on for SO LONG NOW. This show, “Your Honor” is BARELY AGED WATCHABLE, No, I don’t have automatic brightness adjustment on, blah, blah, blah. Everything else on EVERY OTHER APP operates at the brightness I have selected, why not Apple TV???? Like seriously, fix this, this is getting really old.

Hi RachAchhh,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand shows on the Apple TV app are very dark. You mentioned you've already check if Auto-Brightness is turned on. Have you check if True Tone and Night Shift are turned on. If so, try turning them off. Here's how to check if needed: Adjust the screen brightness and color on iPhone.

"Turn Night Shift on or off

You can turn on Night Shift manually, which is helpful when you’re in a darkened room during the day.

Open Control Center, touch and hold the Brightness button, then tap the Night Shift button.

Turn True Tone on or off

On supported models, True Tone automatically adapts the color and intensity of the display to match the light in your environment.

Do any of the following:

  • Open Control Center, touch and hold the Brightness button, then tap the True Tone button to turn True Tone on or off.
  • Go to Settings  > Display & Brightness, then turn True Tone on or off."

If that is not the issue, you may want to try reinstalling the Apple TV app and making sure you have the latest version of iOS to see if the issue persists. Here's how if needed: Update your iPhone or iPad.

If you need further assistance, Contact Apple Support.

We hope this helps.

Take care.
