iPhone 13 Pro Max won't charge after iOS 18.3.1 update

All my original Apple iPhone chargers (that came with the phone) stopped working on my iPhone 13 Pro Max when I upgraded to 18.3.1 - the only charger that will work are the older ones and I charged it for 10 hours and only got to 40% - what can I do to fix this? I can’t charge it for 10 hours a day and turning it off and charging doesn’t help it any faster either. I don’t have apple intelligence.

To the OP and all affected who are reading this...

Report this to Apple...

iPhone battery draining a well-known issue of iOS updates. Question is: "Just how many people have actually reported this to Apple?"

So, do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue.  Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come. Apple will know nothing of this, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this thread
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Your iPhone not charging is usually a physical or hardware issue, and updating your iOS shouldn’t be related to that. In fact, software updates are supposed to provide the latest bug fixes.

First check the port of your iPhone to see if there is a debris and lint, if so, use a wooden or plastic toothpick, but not metal, to get it out. Second try a different outlet. In the meantime try wirelessly charging.

Your charging port may be faulty or debris may be lodged inside. You can use a flashlight to see and then finding any…use a wooden or plastic pick of some kind to gently remove it. Never canned compressed air.

Then I recommend that you read this user tip by *Lawrence Finch* and the information that has posted by *Zachhy* in this thread. Feel free to post back.

It’s every charger I have not just one and it all happened at once after the update. Like I said only the old chargers will work and it’s beyond slow.

My battery health is 83%. I’ve checked that already. Today I have been charging since 14 hours and am only at 44%. It’s insane. Before this my phone charged in 30 minute ish.

If you hear of anything that will help solve this problem with an IPhone 13 please let me know.

The internet has a lot of misinformation these days, you can’t always believe what you see. I don’t see how disabling Apple Intelligence and Siri can help your iPhone that won’t charge, there just isn’t a correlation between those.

Since your battery health is at 83%, you are getting close to the recommendation for a battery replacement, which is 80%. So your iPhone not charging could indicate a failing battery. Apple can run a diagnostics on your battery, and sometimes they will replace your battery a few percent above if there is an apparent issue with it. As I said, if wireless charging still works, use that in the meantime.
