App suddenly stopped working on my MacOS

I have a MacbookPro 2010 with MacOs High Sierra - Version 10.13.6

I have been using my App called; Logoist2 for several years now with no issues.

Suddenly this morning I tried to open the App, and it suddenly asks me to Sign-In with my AppleID to use the App on my same computer.

Its specifically asking for the AppleID and Password used to purchase it. Of course my AppleID has never changed, but I don't remember what password I purchased it over 10 years ago.

When I enter in my current password, it responds with the following:

"An unexpected error occurred while signing in. The data couldn't be read because it isn't in the correct format"

I am frankly flabbergasted and have no idea what is going on. Can anyone help please?

In of the past 6-10 hours, affected macOS systems—including Sierra and High Sierra—can sign in to the App Store again, Apple has switched on access again. I’ve personally tested this, and it’s working

Do not consider this permanent though. Use this opportunity to:

Open and use your legacy apps.

Export or back up anything critical you deem irreplaceable or cannot afford to lose.

This situation serves as a reminder: There are no guarantees of permanent access to legacy apps. Be proactive in seeking trusted alternatives or backup copies where possible to avoid being locked out in the future.
