Confirm Firmware and Software Updates
- AirPods Firmware: Make sure your AirPods are running the latest firmware. Although firmware updates are typically automatic, check that they’re up to date by connecting them to an iOS device and verifying via the Settings app (under Bluetooth, tap the "i" next to your AirPods).
- iOS Update: Ensure your iPhone 16 Pro Max is updated to the latest version. Since you’re on iOS 18.3, check if there’s a minor update or patch available that might address this issue.
Toggle Announce Calls Settings
- Go to Settings > Phone > Announce Calls. Even though it’s set to “On,” try toggling it off, restarting your phone, and then turning it back on.
- Verify if there are additional options (like “Headphones Only”) that might be interfering with the setting. Experiment with these if available.
Reset Network and Bluetooth Settings
- Sometimes resetting network settings can resolve connectivity quirks. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. (Note: This will reset Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth connections, so you’ll need to re-pair your devices.)
- After resetting, reconnect your AirPods and test the Announce Calls feature.
