No hi-res streaming via Airplay

I have a brand new hi-end DAC (Rockna Wavedream Reference). When I stream music which is shown as hi-res lossless track (24bit/96Khz) in Apple Music (see the screenshot from Iphone/Ipad), this is not seen on my DAC, which shows only 44.1K(which is 16bit only and not considered as Hi-Res signal). Why does Airplay restrict the bandwidth?

Why is Apple music 'loseless' stream as lossy on Air Play? Other apps, e.g. Amazon music are able to stream loserless (16/44.1k CD quality) on Airplay and they sound s million times better on my high end hifi system. Is this still the case? Any work arounds? I really like Apple music UI etc but this let down on sound quality absolutely sucks. This is only when wirelessly streaming on your wifi network, if you can actually plug your phone with a cable it's proper bit perfect lossless. What does Amazon know about iOS that Apple doesn't?

AirPlay broken in IOS 18? I am using a Denon PMA-900HNE with AirPlay 2 support. I have streamed music from my iPad and iPhone since I bought it. Now I have upgraded my iPad to IOS 18.01 and it is no longer possible to stream music from my iPad to my Denon unit. I use Apple Music on both my devices. The iPhone (14 Pro) is running IOS 17.7 without any problems streaming using AirPlay 2, but my iPad with IOS 18.1 will not connect to my Denon and play. All units are connected to the same WiFi network. Have read about others on Reddit with same issues and they use other receivers. Anyone with more details about this problem and maybe a workaround until the bug is corrected?

AirPlay (both 1 and 2 versions) protocol doesn't support hi-res sample rates. Only 44.1 kHz sample rate (48 kHz for video contents) is carried.
