AirPlay broken in IOS 18?

I had the same issue with airplay devices not showing up when trying to use airplay after update to IOS 18.x. Following conversation with Apple Support I was advised to reset network settings in the Settings> General > Transfer or REset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings. I then re-connected to the home wifi and airplay started to work as before.

This also resolved the issue with Apple Music not starting following the update.

Before I power cycled the receiver it would see it but no music would play. After the power cycle it would not connect to receiver. The circle would spin for several minutes and finally error out. Then after resetting the network on the iPad it worked without any more reboots to the Pioneer receiver.

Finally solved resetting network, just google your AVR model and reset network settings, for a marantz cinema it’s holding dimmer and tuner preset CH- for 3 seconds…

That worked!! I am using a Pioneer LX-503 receiver with my iPad to play music from Plex. I was going nuts with the holidays here and wanted to play all my Christmas music on Thanksgiving and could not get it going. Thanks for this tip.

My FIX: I did the Network reset and wish I hadn’t. All my known WiFi and passwords are now gone and it didn’t fix the problem.

my issue was airplay connectivity to Sonos and IKEA Sonos speakers after iOS 18.1.1 installation on my iPhone 15.

It appeared that the Sonos app was fighting for access with iTunes. So then I tried an iPad with iOS 16 and it crashed and showed the Apple sign rebooting.

THE FIX for me was to unplug my speakers from the wall for a few minutes then one by one plug each back in so they could get new IP addresses. Now Airplay works again. And the Sonos app is talking to iTunes and showing content and what speakers are playing.

Try unplugging the Denon from power and replug power after a few minutes to allow the Denon to get a new IP address

This worked for me as well - network reset.

I had it working after doing the network reset with my Pioneer receiver. Then iOS 18.2 came and poof it stopped working again. Plex could see the Pioneer airplay, it would spin in circles and could not connect to the receiver. I tried the network reset again on my iPad and it would not work. I then power cycled the receiver, still no go. Rebooted the iPad, no good. Next day it worked fine, so no idea why the wait fixed it.

Same for Sonos One products. Reset Network Settings as suggested. Now works w Airplay but Sonos App connections still not working. Ggggrrrr!

I’m on iOS 18.2 release as well and have the same problem. Tried Reset Network settings - same problem.

Hope this is not Apple’s attempt to get AirPlay device manufacturers to pay another license fee for 18.2 support.

My soundbar is the Sony HT-5000.

I tried this and it still didn't work. Only way it is working is clicking on the mirroring phone icon. It stop working after IOS 18 update

Updated iphone and ipad mini to 18.1.1, Airplay with Yamaha received stopped working on both....2017 Macbook Pro Airplay still works on that receiver (on latest available updated macos.). Loath to reset network as it loses all the wifi passwords and who knows what else. Unplugged receiver for an hour, no luck. Maddening.

Does not work for me as well after updating 18.1.1

Now i cannot connect to my phone to my tv, else it connects and disconnects after 10 seconds. Both Screen mirroring and air play are the same.

Network reset did not work.

Any other option?
