Message App missing from Carplay

My Iphone 12 Pro Max running 18.2.1- I notice that my Message app has disappeared from the icons on my Apple Car play screen. When I try to use Siri to text someone in Carplay Siri tells me I need to dowload an app to perform this request.

Under Settings- General- Carplay- Customize- the Message app is not there to enable. A lot of apps are showing but not the Message app-

Any ideas on how to restore the app to Carplay?

This also has happened to me. I have an iPhone 16 pro max. I have tried all the tricks suggested by people and nothing has put it back. Some say that Apple removed it intentionally.
