Since iOS 18, Text notifications stopped showing up on my CarPlay screen

This is an Apple IOS update issue…nothing wrong with your car or your setting…this is APPLE..They need to take responsibility. I tried another phone that has not been updated in a WHILE and worked just fine…

I am also having this problem in my 2021 Hyundai Tucson.

Notifications work just fine when the CarPlay screen is loaded, but when I back out to the Hyundai stock screen notifications stop working completely. This was not the case before iOS 18.

Can you explain this….My on screen notifications stopped all together, so I am no longer seeing their names at bottom of screen, I now have to go into CarPlay and click on the message to read it…Thank you

The CarPlay text popup box was REMOVED with the 18 update. This is not a bug or awaiting a fix, it’s gone! I have chatted or spoke with several different Apple reps over the past month and have ran through every setting possible. Today I was finally told it’s been removed. Something about wanting people to be totally hands free. He also said features can be brought back if enough people ask, but that all requests must be made via the apple.com/feedback page and he specifically said that they do not react based on these community entries. I put in a request and hopefully many others will also. There is not an option for CarPlay so the rep said to select iPhone. Hope this helps. apple.com/feedback

Same. Did you ever figure this out? It is driving me crazy!!

That makes zero sense! Now I have to look at the screen and press 3 different things to get my message! I did the feedback awhile back and will submit another one. Thanks for the info!

I spent three days and a million rabbit holes. Send someone a message. When their name appears at the bottom of the carplay screen you should see a red speaker in the upper right hand corner. Press it. Should turn grey and you are back in business. Sorry if this was already addressed or I was just being dumb.

Called Apple AGAIN (probably 4th time). Ran through all my settings and he said everything is configured correctly. He says it’s a firmware issue with the manufacturers since the 18 updates. Now I wait on a callback from the dealer. I’ll keep you posted.

Same issue, called apple today, she had never heard of issue, said i need new 18.2 update. Still didnt fix…

Dealer knows nothing! Says no update from Apple. Good grief!
