after updating to IOS 18.2 I have been facing an emoji lag in the keyboard, it gets fixed for a while after restarting but comes up again after a few hours it is very annoying.
also the emoji that I search for does not gets included in my recently used emojis.
is there any way to solve it or someone else facing the same issue?

Okay, i found a fast fix for this problem.
U can go to: Settings -> General -> Keyboards -> Emoji-Symbole Sticker: Off
After this, u have the old version of emoji keyboard without lagging.
Same problem on iPhone 14 Pro Max IOS 18.2. The guys from Apple seem to be experts at fixing something and breaking something else. Each update brings more problems than it solves, is frustrating. Maybe is the first and last iPhone. With Samsung I never had this kind of stupid problem: not being able to properly type on a device in 2024.

I’m running IOS 18.2 on the 16 pro and I’m having the same issue, it started like 3 days ago when I updated my phone. It’s very irritating you buy the newest technology and theres issues.
Same on the iPhone 15 pro max. Driving me absolutely crazy
They did a further update with ios 18.2.1 and nothing changed😡😡

Unfortunately, this doesn't help. You restarted your phone, that's why it's better, but it's temporary. I've had stickers turned off forever and it doesn't change anything.
My stickers are already off & still having this problem. When i open the emoji keyboard it’s also a blank black space for about 5 seconds before the keyboard shows up. Using 1/6th of my system storage, new iphone 16pro. So many keyboard/ predictive text/ etc issues i’ve turned most off and still have issues
Me too! Same problem on iPhone 15 Pro since iOS 18.2! Very annoying. Not the apple quality I am expecting. Very disappointing. Please Apple, fix it as fast as possible.

I have noticed disabling the stickers solves that problem.
You need to go ti Setting > General > Keyboard, and find Stickers at the bottom of the page.
After that restart your phone and it is good as before.
The stickers will not be available but we can live without them as well, until they fix it.
