Can’t search in messages since iOS 18

Update: The only way I found to resolve the issue completely was to go to the apple store and have them reinstall the phone AS NEW after backing up all my information. It took a while and was definitely a pain - - especially having to sign into 60 apps all over again with all the requests to follow me, and pass codes text messages that go with it. Definite time suck. However, the search function across the board has been solved and I can actually use my phone for more than a paperweight again! Word to the wise... write down all your email account and key passwords before you go and bring them with you.

Same problem. It is so frustrating. I found a work around for searching note by using the find in note function (tap the little circle in the upper right hand corner) but even that works sporadically. When you reset your phone, the search mail function works maybe once and the reverts back to the spinning wheel of death. They need to fix this now! I too use this function all the time for work. Happened when I updated my software as well!

Another me too. In messages, searching, hits come up with a handful of irrelevant messages containing that text string, but not the actual text thread with the recipient I’m looking for. Message searching is next to useless.
