iMessage search is not working. I am searching for terms in messages I know exist and I get incomplete results

I got iPhone 15 Pro running latest version iOS 17.0.2, on 9/22/23. I confirmed all my data and messages successfully transferred over from my previous iPhone. I also never delete messages.

step to recreate:

manually scrolled down to find the term "speaking" in a message from 2022
searched in iMessage for the term "speaking"

expected results: show's all the messages with the term "speaking".

actual results: only shows one message from two weeks ago that contains the term "speaking". It doesnt show the message from 2022.

I tested with many other searches and terms and same thing, I get incomplete results.

Apple is aware of the issue

but I have talked to them multiple times and the issue hasnt been fixed

one of their employees said we need to keep bringing the issue up so it can get resolved

Identical problem here. Same software same phone search feature only works a couple weeks back

apple wont let me post the link here, but there is a thread on reddit about this and the top post says apple is aware of the issue and working on a fix.
