So, I called on the 9th but didn't hear back. I got a letter that day from Chase dated Dec 5th saying that it understood I received an error message while attempting to make my purchase through the "Shop with Apple" portion of the rewards site, and that "additional security" had been added to all "account" (not all accounts, but I digress....) and to verify my address. BTW, I've been doing that since this first started (Nov 25th I think). I also got a secure message saying Chase was very sorry for my problem trying to purchasde the Apple products with my rewards points, but they would not be extending the promotion.
I called the Executive Office POC again today and left another message referencing the letter and secure message. The POC called me back a little while ago and said they were very unhappy with the fact that I had not received the promised phone call, because they had been assured I would get a call, and that they were continuing to work on it.
We'll see what happens, but at this point I'm pretty sure I won't be renewing the Sapphire Reserve card next month. Why would I pay $625 (2 cards, mine and my wife's) for benefits that I don't get to use?
On that note, does anyone know what happens to my 600K points if I do cancel the cards?
