Apple Intelligence on iPhone 14 why isn’t it there?
I want the iPhone 14 to have the Apple Intelligence, but it’s just not there. Why won’t Apple put it on iPhone 14? I have to go buy a new iPhone Thanks Apple

Your iPhone 14 lacks the processing power and RAM to run Apple Intelligence. If you want that feature, you'll need an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 (Pro or non-Pro).
Wow, the actual facts speak much louder than nonsensical posts.
Thank you for that and the clear picture it provides!

What part of "no" was unclear?
The part that doesn't include a magical solution.
Hello~ I am afraid it’s just a losing argument but a good one your part!! ;-)

Make what with better ram? If you have an iPhone 14, you cannot increase RAM. Your question makes no sense.
You need to recall that iPhone CPU has integrated memory. It is not strictly processing power but also memory issue. LLMs require quite some memory space to run efficiently.

I don’t know why Apple doesn’t let iPhone 14 have Apple intelligence.
Read through the seven pages in this thread. The answer has been given.
Because Apple Intelligence requires a phone with 8GB of RAM, which no phones except iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max and all iPhone 16 models have. Your phone doesn't have the RAM, thus it simply cannot support Apple Intelligence. If you want an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, Apple will take your phone in trade or you can sell it privately and use the trade or sale money towards an iPhone which has the processing power to run Apple Intelligence.
Your phone does everything today, it did when it was new. Apple never suggested older models would get all new features and in fact they specifically suggest not all new features will work on all devices capable of running iOS 18. Expecting a two year old iPhone to be able to run the newest features, when the phone doesn't have the hardware required is just not going to happen.

Had you purchased an iPhone 15, it doesn't get Apple Intelligence either. You'd have to own a 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max. Being mad about owning a phone released 2 years ago, which doesn't have the hardware required to run Apple Intelligence, doesn't make a lot of sense. Often, the newest features introduced with the newest iPhones aren't available on previous models.
Apple would be happy to let you trade in your iPhone 15 towards the purchase of one of the iPhone 16 models, which can run Apple Intelligence.
i would prefer it does not get the glow, if its not really apple intelligence. its purpose is to remind you it just scanned the screen without asking every time someone in the same room as you says "seriously?"
You could literally say this about anything. My PS5 can’t run 4k games at 60fps (hardware limitation). You’re telling me I have upgrade to the pro model? Thanks Sony. I have to buy a new router to support the fastest internet speeds? Thanks Xfinity!
it’s been the reality of the software/hardware relationship since the beginning of time my guy…

Yep, that's called technology. Software has always outpaced Hardware ever since the first computer and will continue well into the future. If this is your first stop on the technology train, simply sit back and enjoy the ride.
There are things you can do with your iPhone 14 that others cannot with earlier phones. For example, you have object detection in Photos, which is not possible on the iPhone X. The iPhone 14 also included Emergency SOS, Car Crash Detection, and Auto focus on the front facing camera not found in earlier models.
I use an iPhone 11 for work and an iPhone 16 for personal. The only noticeable difference is the Siri glow. Apple intelligence didn’t change anything at all. There’s arguably less Siri features than there was before the “update”. You’re not missing anything at all from not have Apple intelligence. It literally does nothing to the iPhone.
I deliberately limited my search for a used iPhone to the 14 Pro Max to get the best phone possible, that could not be influenced by Apple “intelligence”. The only thing I regret it not having is the USB-C port for high speed video support.
My iPad Pro is trying to be “intelligent”, but I am holding it to iOS 17.

RAM is just one of the things you need for a demanding piece of software such as this:
Simply having enough RAM with a slower CPU and the without the valuable GPU cores needed for the on-device AI Processing, would result in poor performance that could lead to frequent crashes and would fill this Support Site with complaints from users and probably lead to a class action lawsuit

I don't think they really thought that argument through. If they had they would have realized that the same thing happens on all devices. Of course we could also post links from the Android support site from users wishing they would have bought an iPhone, but they will figure it out.
NO. The "I'll show them" knee jerk response wasn't thought through too well!
