Apple Intelligence on iPhone 14 why isn’t it there?
I want the iPhone 14 to have the Apple Intelligence, but it’s just not there. Why won’t Apple put it on iPhone 14? I have to go buy a new iPhone Thanks Apple

Your iPhone 14 lacks the processing power and RAM to run Apple Intelligence. If you want that feature, you'll need an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 (Pro or non-Pro).
I deliberately haven’t upgraded my 14 to avoid all that slop for the first time since I bought the second iPhone model out. Annoyingly my iPad got done though - thought I was safe because it’s 3 years old.
ChatGPT runs in the cloud, only the "browser" for it is on the Phone. Sometimes ChatGPT stutters and lags. This would be very bad if you made a phone with AI only to be limited by internet connection.
So the AI on iPhone runs on the phone and needs enough memory and speed to perform in acceptable way.
The RAM and CPU (both on same chip) were upgraded and the new iPhone was introduced.
It’s because maybe your device doesn’t have a powerful chip to process advanced features like gen emoji, image playground and more. I don’t know why Apple doesn’t let iPhone 14 have Apple intelligence.

Why can the ChatGPT app run fine on a 14? I pay for pro and the app is fine. Apple being Apple I suppose.
The answer is simple. The app is nothing more than a web portal where your communication and information provided is uploaded to their servers where all the processing power is done and returns those results to you. All your data and requests are being stored on those servers. The app simple sends and receives data and requires very little processing power on your device and similar to browsing web pages. That is why the app is available and the only option for devices that lack the processing power.
With Privacy and Security in mind, Apple took a much different approach with Apple Intelligence where the vast amount of the processing power is done on your device and your data and information is also kept private. On the occasion that outside servers are needed for additional processing power then you use Apple Private Cloud Compute where you are in charge of that information and have control over your data and can even view the Intelligence Report.
Hopefully that clears it up.
Here is some additional relevant information if you are interested for a better understanding Apple Intelligence and why it is much different than the ChatGPT app:

Apple does not have a feature called "Apple Intelligence" on the iPhone 14. It's possible that you may be referring to a different feature or product. It's always best to research the specific features of a device before purchasing it.
You can do much better than just copy/pasting the OP question into an AI field and post what it spits out. Users here deserve much more human intelligence where AI just doesn't understand. The OP is obviously asking why Apple Intelligence does not run on the iPhone 14, and the answer is that it does not contain the necessary hardware to facilitate the demands on on-device processing used by Apple Intelligence. Since the iPhone 14 was released before Apple Intelligence was even announced, it would be very difficult to research that specific feature when purchasing an iPhone 14. That may be difficult for AI to comprehend, but an human can figure that out quite easily.

i don’t get how iphone 14 doesn’t have the apple intelligence while the others iphone have the apple intelligence and we don’t
Because it does not have the Hardware capable of running it effectively. Note that Apple Intelligence uses On Device Processing for AI that requires the additional CPU speed, GPU cores with the necessary RAM for the increased demand placed on the phone. Similar to when Visual Lookup was made available to iPhone with the adequate power, but not the iPhone X or earlier. Nothing unusual in the technology world where Software has always outpaced Hardware ever since the very first computer and will continue well into the future. Welcome aboard the technology train.

Then you didn't read this thread, where it has been explained that only iPhones with at least 8GB of Ram can run Apple Intelligence. Your iPhone doesn't have the requisite hardware. It really is that simple and shouldn't be hard to understand.
Every year, ALL cell phone manufacturers (not just Apple) bring out newer phones, with newer features. To expect that models released a couple years earlier will get the newest features, when those phones don't have the hardware required to support the newest features is an unfortunate and unrealistic expectation.

Apple Intelligence is not made/compatible for iPhone 14
Welcome to the thread! The post you are responding to is approaching a year old.
Hopefully, the poster has their answer by now too, even if they’re not particularly fond of that answer.
Yes, Apple Intelligence requires iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or later, for use with iPhone.
The list of supported iPhone, iPad, and Mac equipment has been posted in this thread on various occasions.

If iPhone 16 gets old like my phone next year will the RAm be less effective and hence tie intelligence?
Your question doesn't make sense? RAM doesn't become less effective and I have no clue what "tie intelligence" means?

I mean, yeah I get white iPhone 14 doesn’t get Apple Intelligence, but if the iPhone supports iOS 18, then at least add the glowing thing for Siri
You can certainly tell Apple that --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple
Don't hold your breath for it however. The "Glow" is built into the OS for Apple Intelligence and is not standalone at all. I'm not sure what difference it would make? The Glow does nothing. It's what's built into the new Siri, which makes Siri better. The glow is simply ornamental. It's kind of amusing that the most sought after feature of Apple Intelligence is the Siri Glow. People don't even seem to care whether Siri is more capable, which Siri is in Apple Intelligence.

Guess I’ll buy a Samsung or Motorola or Google pixel next time I need a phone
That's fine. Buy whatever you want. We don't need to know or honestly care as we're all users here on this user to user only forum. But how disappointed you will eventually be, when a couple years after buying whatever other cell phone you want and new features are released in future models which that phone you bought a couple years earlier won't be able to run.
This is how technology goes. Technology moves faster than hardware can keep up and there is no cell manufacturer on the planet who sells a 100% future proof device.
Hello~ I always encourage everyone to buy what seems best suited for their needs. I have a question though…if you’re going to buy a new smartphone …why not just buy an iPhone that can handle Apple Intelligence?

Then buy an iPhone which supports Apple Intelligence. That means the following models:
iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro Max
Any iPhone 16 Model, including the newly released iPhone 16 E

The ChatGPT app can run just fine on an iPhone 14. Apple doesn't own ChatGPT. But don't confuse the integration of ChatGPT into Apple Intelligence, which requires on device processing, with the ChatGPT app, which does not.
Apple Intelligence on iPhone 14 why isn’t it there?
